Welcome to 2nd grade! On this site, you will find updated events and important information about your child's school day at ChangeMakers Academy. We are thrilled to be working with each and every one of you to ensure the academic and emotional growth and success of your child.
Attendance is very important for your child's learning! Please make sure your child arrives to school prior to 8:00 am. For students who come to school for 15 consecutive days, they will earn a FREE DRESS DAY! We love to see their beautiful faces everyday! The class with the best attendance for the month will receive a dance and donut party!
February 13th- 100th Day of School February 14th- Valentines Day! (Electives will be cancelled) February 20th-21st- No School (President's Day)
Students are to complete their homework packets each week and submit on Fridays.
Every Friday is a half-day (Dismissal at 1:00 pm)
Fridays are NOT free dress days. Students must either wear their regular uniform, OR their college t-shirt and jeans.

We have received huge amount of support and donations through families in regards to donations of supplies! We cannot express enough gratitude for all your incredible generous donations! If you would like to donate to our classrooms, we will gladly accept offers throughout the year of:
Pencils (preferably Ticonderoga brand)
Crayons/ Colored Pencils
Small Water Bottles
Academics for the Month: Math: Students have been working hard in both addition and subtraction of three digit numbers with regrouping. Please make sure students continue to practice these skills as they are integral to their academic success! Reading: Students work in small groups with their specific levels. Please make sure students are continuing to read every night and are answering within the text (factual) and beyond the text (inferential) questions. We will begin F&P testing on February 24th. Phonics: Students have been focusing on a specific skill each week in addition to their sight words. Please make sure students are practicing these words everyday.
