Principals' MessageDear Families, We have entered the beautiful month of February- Black History Month. Black History Month will be CMA’s focus for February. This is a special time where we promote knowledge of black history, culture and heritage. Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a time for recognizing the central role of blacks in U.S. history. In 2020, we want to continue to celebrate and bring the joy of our students’ cultures into our school community. Learning about people, events, and themes that are central to Black culture, history, pride, civil rights, beauty and resilience will broaden our students' understanding and appreciation of their own, others, and American history. This year, each classroom will create a ‘living museum’ to celebrate Black History Month, on Friday, February 28th. Please see the times for your grade-levels below. In addition, we would also like to invite you to join a circle- lets your child’s teacher know if you would like to come in and share something with their class during Black History Month. We always want to learn from our families! Circle times for each grade level as well as the presentation schedule are provided below.
