Principals' Message

Dear CMA Families,

The safety of our students, families, and staff is of the upmost importance. It is ABSOLUTELY imperative you abide by the following traffic guidelines:
Picture
Drive SLOW- 15 MPH Requirements

After exiting our parking lot you can ONLY make a right hand turn

In order to cross the street you MUST use the crossing guard or go to the traffic light ONLY

STOP at all STOP signs

Park in only legal parking spots, and do not double park
Picture
Parking Illegally
As a friendly reminder, please do not park your vehicle illegally. We have noticed that some families have parked their cars in undesignated areas during student arrival and dismissal. Some areas are private property to the neighbors. We are NOT responsible if neighbors call the police or tow trucks to have these cars removed.

TICKETING for illegal parking
Please note if you are parking in red areas or in the flow of traffic you will receive a ticket.  Please do not BLOCK the flow of traffic or park in the red zones.
With Gratitude,
Ms. Canady and Mrs. Weingarten

Principals' Message

Dear CMA Families,

National Hispanic Heritage Month honors the achievements, contributions, culture, and history of the Hispanic and Latino American people and it is celebrated September 15th- Oct 15th. Last year we were focused on and celebrated important people of Hispanic descent and inviting families to share themselves and their culture to students.

Picture
In 2019, we want to continue to celebrate and bring the joy of our students’ cultures to our school community. We would love to invite you to celebrate with your students and our school. Your students teacher will be contacting you with more information and we invite you to join us.

With Gratitude,
Ms. Canady and Mrs. Weingarten

Principals' Message

Dear CMA Families,

It has been a wonderful first 2 weeks of school! We have begun building the foundational blocks to a very successful school year!  We discussed some very important policies at back to school night that we would like to reiterate below; Please read very carefully and support us to support your child grow to reach their full potential!
Attendance Announcements

If your student is not going to be at school please call the front office to let them know the reason.  When your student returns please provide the front office with a doctor’s note.

After 3 unexcused absences you will attend a mandatory meeting with our Operations Manager to discuss how we can best support your child getting to school.

Please be aware that the Caliber: ChangeMakers Academy relies on the funding it receives for students’ Average Daily Attendance (ADA). Caliber: ChangeMakers Academy’s General Purpose (GP) funding is based solely on the actual attendance of its students.
The school loses $35 per day for every student absence.

No absences are excused in regards to state ADA funds. Attendance does have to be documented as excused or unexcused for grading and statistical purposes. For this documentation, please send a note stating the reason for the absence and signed by the student's parent or guardian.
Thank you for your partnership,

Ms. Canady and Mrs. Weingarten

Principals' Message

Dear CMA Families,

The first week of school is in the books...and what a GREAT week it has been! We are pleased to have seen SO many families at our first Back to School Night and are excited to meet more families in the upper school. We look forward to continuing to build deeper, stronger relationships with our families as we partner to support ALL of our students. Seeing students back on campus has brought loads of smiles, positive energy, and lots of fun! We heard “ This is the best first day of school ever!” from lots of our students and WE couldn't agree more.  Thank you all for making this such a smooth beginning to our school year. Below are some quick reminders about old and new policies at ChangeMakers.

In partnership,

Ms. Canady and Mrs. Weingarten

Ways To Get Involved

SSC-  School Site Council
First Meeting - Oct. 2nd
Meets throughout the year and is comprised of teachers, other school personnel, the principal and parents/guardians, whose major function is the development, implementation, and evaluation of the school site plan for categorical programs. We will review our LCAP, which outlines our school goals, in order to ensure we are meeting our annual goals.

ELAC -District English Learners Advisory Council
First Meeting - Oct. 9th

Advises the school leader and SSC regarding the school’s program and services for identified English Language Learner students. ELAC responsibilities can be voted over for SSC to assume its responsibilities.

FCC- Family Connection Committee
This committee offers great ways to get to know other families  in the CMA community. Our monthly planning meeting takes place each month to discuss the upcoming months’ activities and events.
Discussions also focus on operations, event planning and classroom support.  All CMA families are welcome to attend our planning meetings! If, at any time, you would like to take on a more active role please let the Leadership Team know.
