Principals' MessageDear Families, We have entered the beautiful month of February- Black History Month. Black History Month will be CMA’s focus for February. This is a special time where we promote knowledge of black history, culture, and heritage. Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements by African Americans and a time for recognizing the central role of blacks in U.S. history. In 2020, we want to continue to celebrate and bring the joy of our students’ cultures into our school community. Learning about people, events, and themes that are central to Black culture, history, pride, civil rights, beauty and resilience will broaden our students' understanding and appreciation of their own, others, and American history. This year, each classroom will create a ‘living museum’ to celebrate Black History Month, on Friday, February 28th. . Please see the times for your grade-levels below. In addition, we would also like to invite you to join a circle- let your child’s teacher know if you would like to come in and share something with their class during Black History Month. We always want to learn from our families! Circle times for each grade are included below. Educationally Yours, Mrs. Weingarten and Ms. Canady Keep Up With Current Events
Families who have yet to finalize their current 2019-2020 documents are encouraged to submit them promptly. In not submitting them, you are jeopardizing your students spot for next school year, 2020-2021.
